Professional

I'm a senior software engineer at Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions (TSS) in Eagan, Minnesota.

TSS's main customer is the FAA. Currently I'm part of the team working on the En Route Modernization (ERAM) project, which will replace the software and hardware at the 20 Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs) around the US.

During 2007 I also had the privilege of working on the Integrated Airport project. Integrated Airport is a research project being conducted by Lockheed Martin, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and several other industry partners. The project hopes to make airport software systems smarter by allowing them to share data via a J2EE enterprise service bus. For me personally it was a fun opportunity to learn JBoss and do some Java coding -- this was the first time I'd seen Java since college. I also got several trips to ERAU's Daytona Beach campus out of the deal.

Personal

I was born and raised in central Kansas and spent the first 22 years of my life there.

After college I found my way to the twin cities. I met a wonderful woman named Tracy up here, and we were married in July 2007. We purchased a house in St. Paul this fall and are learning the joys of home ownership (we've already shoveled 10 inches of snow as I write this in mid-December).
