CSCI 5105 Announcements

5/17/09: The final letter grades for the class have been submitted to the registrar. They will be available within 24 hours.

5/13/09: The Final exam grades are released. The mean and median for the final are 84.

5/11/09: The Final Exam has been released. This is a Take-home exam. The solutions will be due on Tue, May 12 at 4pm. Detailed submission instructions are in the exam. The graded exams will be handed back on Thu, May 14 between 3-5pm in the instructor's office (CS/EE 4-209).

4/20/09: Homework 3 is released. It will be Due on Apr 27 in class.

4/16/09: The Final Exam will be a Take-home exam. It will be released on Mon, May 11 and the solutions will be due on Tue, May 12 (Exact time of release and submission will be declared later).

4/6/09: Programming Assignment 3 is released. It will be Due on Apr 21.

4/5/09: Please submit your second homework at the beginning of tomorrow's class

3/31/09: Reminder for on-campus stduents: The pre-taping for Apr 6 lecture will take place on Apr 1 from 1.25-3.45pm in ME 212.

3/30/09: Homework 2 is released. It will be Due on Apr 06.

3/23/09: Grit has been updated with the Mid Term Exam scores.

3/9/09: Programming Assignment 2 is released. It will be Due on Mar 31.

3/4/09: A sample Mid Term Exam is here. Also, check the schedule page for updated slides from Monday's lecture.

3/2/09: Due to the weekend power outage in the dept., the due date for Prog Assnmt 1 has been extended to Thu Mar 5, 11:59pm (Hard copies due Fri).

2/23/09: The instructor's Office Hrs today will be held only from 2-3pm.

2/16/09: Programming Assignment 1 is released. It will be Due on Mar 03.

2/12/09: TA office hours from now will be on Friday 12:00-13:00.

2/9/09: A Web page containing RPC information, including the RPC & RMI tutorial that was presented in class and references to other information, has been added. This page is linked to from the "Additional Reading" page.

2/9/09: Homework 1 is released. It will be Due on Feb 16.

2/9/09: The date for the mid-term has been posted. It will be held on Mar 9 in class.

A new link has been added for additional reading material and online resources. Some of this material is meant to supplement the topics covered in the textbook, while some of it will cover topics not in the textbook. The schedule page will point to the recommended reading corresponding to each lecture, and you are highly encouraged to read these in addition to the required reading from the textbook.

1/22/09: More information about the course work and a tentative schedule has been added - follow the links on the left for these. All lecture notes, weekly readings as well as important dates for exams and assignments will be posted on the Schedule page, so you should frequently look at it. Use the link for Class Forum to post questions, comments and discussions.

Also, Homework 0 has been released. This homework has been provided for you to assess your pre-requisite background for the class. This homework will not be graded - but you are strongly advised to solve it. If you have difficulty solving it or are unfamiliar with any of the concepts, you may find it hard to follow the course material, and you must talk to the instructor ASAP.

1/16/09: Due to the University holiday on Mon, Jan 19, the first lecture will be held on Mon, Jan 26. If you are on the waiting list or are interested in enrolling in the class, you are strongly urged to attend the first lecture.
