Announcements for CSci 4211

Date Announcement
5/7/2009 Please refer to the demo instruction for lab #2: click here. The room for the demo is EECS 2-209 (TA office).
5/6/2009 [TA office hour] TA will hold extra office hours before the final: Friday 3-4pm, Monday 11-12pm.
5/6/2009 [Lab #2 Extension] Lab #2 is extended to Friday 11am, May 8th. There will be no more extension.
5/1/2009 [Lab #2 Grading] Lab #2 grading will be done on a basis of 30-minute demonstration of each group in front of TA. For this, each group needs to send an email to TA with 3 preferable time slots (to avoid conflicts) for the demonstration. The time slot is a 30-minute interval basis and should be between 10am to 5pm from Fri (May 8) to Wed (May 13), except weekend.
4/23/2009 For those who did not get the midterm exam papers, you can get them at the TA office hours (M 2-3, W 4-5).
4/23/2009 Homework #4 correction: In the question 2(d), it should be "switches" instead of "bridges".
4/21/2009 Homework #4 goes out: [pdf] and [doc]. It is due at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 5th.
4/9/2009 Since some students pointed out a potential problem related to owner tracking of the peer list, we add a message for explicit notification: a downloading peer sends GETFILEDONE to the owner to tell that it has successfully downloaded. Revised document for lab #2 is available here.
4/8/2009 Project 2 goes out. In addition, we open project 1 code. The lab is due at 11:00am May 7 (Thursday). Good luck!
4/2/2009 Homework #3 goes out: [pdf] and [doc]. It is due at 11:00am on Thursday, April 16th. For question #4, you will need to run dijkstra and DV on the graphs.
3/27/2009 Yesterday slides (including midterm review) are posted. In addition, there will be an extra office hours at 11-12am in the midterm day (Tue, March 31).
3/5/2009 IMPORTANT: The midterm date has been changed to March 31st (Tuesday).
3/2/2009 Due to a power problem, today's TA office hours will be at 4-240 instead of 2-209. Since the project is due at tomorrow, the office hours will be extended until 5pm today.
2/28/2009 For project 1: Clip playing problems are most likely due to driver issues and there will be no deduction for these problems.
2/23/2009 There will be progress check for project 1 this week. The progress check is to have a time (~5 min) for you to show code and to explain where your are. It is NOT intended as a "debugging" session but a status update. Plan on seeing either the professor or the TA in their office hours.
Extra office hours (Professor): Tues/Thur 2-4:45pm, Weds 9-10:45am.
Extra office hours (TA): Wed 1-5pm, Fri 3-5pm.
2/23/2009 Due to crowdedness of the TA room, the TA office hours will be changed to MW 4-5pm for Thursday. There is no change on Monday (2-3pm).
2/20/2009 I found the response code values in Protocol.java are different from the ones in the document. Please follow the document. You can use a new Protocol.java instead. Sorry for this confusion.
2/19/2009 Today's material is available here.
