May 8 - Prof. Swanson will hold office hours on Monday,
1:15-3:00 at 1701 University Avenue, room 211, as usual next
week. The teaching assistants will
not hold office hours next week (exam week), however.

March 31 - The
Lab Midterm exam
will be given during the lab sections beginning Tuesday, April
7. The Lab Midterm for the Monday lab sections will be
on April 13.
- Two hours: 90 minutes for exam and 30 minutes for grading
- Sign-up for your two-hour time slot in this week's lab
- Open book, notes, lab files, course web pages
- A web browser can be connected to the course website
- You can ask a TA about a "syntax" problem (e.g., what does
this error message mean?)
- Material covered: chapters 1-5, and 12 of the text
- If you finish early, your exam can be graded but in silence!

The Midterm
Exam will be given next week:

January 19 - Please get
an ITLabs computer
account for Spring Semester 2009
before attending the first lab section meeting, if possible. This
can be done online at http://www.itlabs.umn.edu/.
You can also register for your ITLabs account during the first lab
section meeting but then you may have to complete the first lab
assignment outside of the
lab section time.
Note:
Students in Lab
Sections 4 and 5 that meet on Tuesdays must
attend the lab on Tuesday, january 20, even though they will not
attend the first lecture until Wednesday.
