    There will be no TA office hours today (Friday).

    I will be out of town until Thursday, so my office hour on Wednesday will have to be cancelled. However, because there is an assignment due Friday, if there is sufficient interest, I will hold an additional hour either Thursday at 2:00 or Friday at 11:00 (or both, depending on your responses). Please email me if you would like me to hold either of these extra office hours. -Eric

    Additional resources have been added, including a couple of demo/animations for Viterbi decoding and an old mid-term exam.

    JT Olds has written python scripts for rejection sampling, likelihood weighting, Gibbs sampling, the sum-product algorithm, the max-product algorithm, and the filtering/smoothing/prediction and Viterbi decoding for problem 4 from homework 2. You can find the source files and instructions for running the scripts on the resources page.

    A new tab `Reading' has been added to the webpage. It will have tutorials/pointers to resources relevant to the course material. Currently, it has two documents related to Gibbs Sampling and MCMC.

    Although the syllabus says that all homeworks must be submitted electronically, we have decided that you will have the option of turning in handwritten assignments this semester. Make sure they are neat and readable.
