  • 2006/4/28 Solutions to the final examination are posted here.

  • 2006/5/7 The examination will be confined to the following chapters and sections of Sipser --- chapter 7, chapter 8, §9.3, §10.3, §10.5 --- and the following chapters and sections from Du & Ko --- chapter 1, chapter 2, §3.1, §3.2, §3.4, §3.5, §4.2, §5.9, §6.1, §6.2, §6.5, §6.6, §6.7. In addition, the proof of the switching lemma is explicitly excluded from the examination.

  • 2006/4/28 Solutions to homeworks through hw5-6 are posted, including a better solution to 2.8 on hw3.

  • 2006/3/8 The seventh homework assignment is posted.

  • 2006/3/8 The sixth homework assignment is posted.

  • 2006/4/4 The fifth homework assignment is amalgamated with assignment 6, which will be posted soon.

  • 2006/3/23 The midterm examination will be a take-home sample examination not for credit. The final examination will be increased in weight to count for both the former midterm and final examination scores.

  • 2006/3/23 The fourth homework assignment is extended until Monday March 27.

  • 2006/3/8 The third homework assignment is extended: may be handed in to the TA on Friday March 10, if you wish to take a little longer to complete it.
