10/1/07: The project proposal presentations have been moved to Wed 10/10 - please note the schedule change.
You must submit an initial draft of your project proposal by Fri 10/6/07 to me, and a final draft of the proposal by Tu 10/9/07. Guidelines for the project proposal report and presentation are on the Course Requirements link.

9/28/07:
I have posted the schedule for the Mon project group meetings in the class forum. Please check it for your scheduled time.

9/28/07:
There has been a schedule change in the order of paper presentations for Oct 17 and Oct 22. Please note these changes on the schedule page.

9/19/07:
I have added a link to "Advice for Systems Researchers" under Course Requirements link on the left. This has several useful references for things like how to give a good talk, how to review a paper, how to build systems, etc. I would strongly recommend that you read some of these references for preparing your class presentations, reviews, and course projects.

9/18/07:
One more paper has been added to the reading list (3rd paper under Distributed Computing) to accomodate the presentation requirements for all the enrolled students in the class. This paper is closely related to the paper listed above it, and hence, would add only minimal overhead in reading it.

9/9/07: A tentative presentation schedule has been put up (see link on left) based on the preferences that were sent to me. However, I was unable to resolve all the conflicts, so if you have not been assigned a paper yet, please select from the remaining ones. I'll work with you in getting a suitable paper assigned to you.

9/5/07: A reading list (along with paper links) has been set up. Please send me a list of your top three choices of papers by email by Fri 9/7/07. Although I'll try to assign the preferred papers to everyone, conflicts would be resolved in a first-come-first-serve manner.

9/3/07: Welcome to CSCI 8980! Please check the information link for class information. The class website would be updated soon with more details.
